Today is the 18th day of July and it is the first day of my SEAMEO program. The host university pick us up at 08:00 Chiangrai time this morning and we directly went to the Mae Fah Luang park which is not really far from our dormitory.
The above pictures are all the participants of SEAMEO in Chiangrai Rajabhat University when we walk and take a picture together in Mae Fah Luang park.
In Mae Fah Luang park, there is not just a park but also there is a statue of the Mae Fah Luang, the mother of the king. In Mae Fah Luang also there is a water fountain and a lake. It's so gorgeous. It's all so gorgeous.
After we have a relax time in Mae Fah Luang park, we took a bit walk to the building which is still in the Chiangrai Rajabhat University area.
In the building, we have an orientation. In the orientation, we have to introduce ourselves to the others and we have to mention what is our expectation when come to Chiangrai and joining this SEAMEO program.
After the orientation, all of us and also the host university, Mr Teerawat and Miss Nok, took us around the city with van. We went to have lunch in Muslim food restaurant.
I eat chicken and beef at the restaurant, and also rice of course. Indonesian people claimed that they did not eat rice yet, they did not eat yet. Rice is the most important thing for Indonesian people.
There is a mosque not far from the Muslim food restaurant. It is just only a few meters. After we have a lunch in the Muslim food restaurant, all of the participants have a pray in that mosque. The name of the mosque is Darunaman Mosque. It is quite big and clean and also comfortable.
After we did the praying, we went to another places. And guess, what place next? It was an elephant park.
Some of the participants rode in the upside of the elephants. It cost 300 baht if you want to rode it too. Actually, I want to rode it too but I ever rode an elephant with my father when I was a kid and it is still the first day of SEAMEO program which is mean I still have much time to live here in Thailand until next month. So, I just feed the elephants there with banana and also bamboo. They eat it very deliciously.
In the afternoon, after from the elephants park, we went to the next place which is Central Plaza. There, we have time until 18:30 Chiangrai time. So, we were free to bought whatever we need to live during in Thailand or just buy souvenir for our family and friends in Indonesia.
This is a picture of us in one of the counter of handphone. Almost all of the participants bought the SIM card with Thailand number.
During in Central Plaza, Dwi, Halim, and I was looking for souvenirs and many things from the low ground until the upper ground floor. I bought mask and umbrella because it is raining seasons in Thailand, especially Chiangrai. Halim did not buy anything, she just drank ice cocoa in the food court. While Dwi, she also just drank ice cocoa such as Halim. Actually, she was looking for a slippers but the price was not friendly with the pocket or wallet. So, we just walk around the building.
And then, it's already 18:30 and we have to stop shopping and go home.
On the way to the dormitory, there is a golden clock tower in the middle of intersection.
Every 19:00 the light of the clock will be turn on and it will have many colors from yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and red. Not just the lighting, but also there is a music from it.
